Description

Replace a faulty idle control valve with this aftermarket 6-pin Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) – Slim Type, designed for selected Mitsubishi Lancer models equipped with 4G15 and 4G18 SOHC engines.

Also commonly known as an IACV, Idle Stepper Motor, Idle Control Sensor, or Idle Air Control Sensor, this component is mounted on the throttle body and controls the amount of air entering the engine during idle. It helps the engine computer increase or decrease the idle speed as required.

Important: Slim Type vs. Fat Type

This is the SLIM TYPE IACV. Mitsubishi CS-series vehicles can use different physically shaped IACV designs, including the FAT TYPE. Although both may have a 6-pin connection, they are physically different and are not necessarily interchangeable.

Connector Recommendation

Before replacing the IACV itself, we strongly recommend inspecting the 6-pin electrical connector. A damaged, loose, corroded, or poorly fitting connector can prevent the IACV from operating correctly and may produce symptoms similar to a faulty sensor.

If the connector is damaged, it is recommended to replace the 6-pin connector/pigtail before replacing the IACV.
